One Two Three Four

So I was reading action-squad and I noticed a mention of the Voxtrot self-titled LP. Has somebody heard it? If so, I’d love to know how it sounds. Also in the same post was a link to Feist’s new video. A few comments:

1. I like that blue sequence suit on her, but one time I visited Chicago and saw Beno dancing down the street wearing the exact same suit. True story. So it kind of sours the video for me. On a quick side note, a friend and I are considering a trip to Chicago for Lollapalooza this August. Pros and cons, from a non-biased standpoint?

2. Is it just me or is this video going to be playing during a VH1 “You Oughta Know” clip within a month? I love Feist, and I love VH1 (their Best Week Ever blog keeps me in the know on important topics), but there’s something about the two of them together that’s a bit cloying. All those colors, all that cheer? It’s a little too I’m From Barcelona for me.

3. I was out to dinner last night with a friend who contended that Let It Die is better and more listenable than The Reminder. I disagreed, claiming that The Reminder’s tracks had more life and variety to them, whereas Let It Die, though well-crafted and melodic, didn’t quite have the staying power that The Reminder looks to have. Thoughts?

Regardless, I’m very much looking forward to a tour to support the new album. In the meantime, I’ll have to settle for Regina to entertain me with her concert quirkiness, and that’s a-okay with me.
