Martsch is a synonym for Swamp
Your favorite hobo impersonator and mine is bringing his band to the Vic in Chicago on July 17 for what i’m sure will be another totally-worth-attending but super-annoying-at-points performance. I’ve seen these guys more times than any other band i can think of, and they usually end up adding a second Chicago show once the first one sells out in like four minutes. But who knows if that will be the case this time around, as i think this is the first time they’re playing a venue other than Metro. Maybe their success at Lolla is paying off. Regardless, if even a fraction of the ten million douchebags that watched them at Lolla have designs on catching a more intimate performance this year, they’ll have nary a choice but to add at least one more date. NARY A CHOICE I SAID!
I for one am actually happy about this show not being at Metro. If i don’t see another Metro show in my life i won’t be disappointed. But that’s not going to happen unless LCD Soundsystem cancels Sunday night’s show, which RevDave and I will be at with flasks full of Jameson and complaints aplenty about not being able to smoke. Stay tuned for a full review next week.
Oh, and seriously, start showering on a regular basis Doug. You’re a grown man for crying out loud.
