Midlake 116 years young
It’s the Just For Men - Beard and Mustache coloring that makes them look so young and get all of the hot 40-something babes. The rumor on TMZ.com is the drummer was a warship gunman in WWI (A New Hope) which is where he got the idea for so many hot beats.
There is always something quite strange and lovely about Midlake’s sound. It sounds old. Or maybe vintage is the right word. Either way, it feels like you should have been listening to it your whole life. And it’s probably because, from what it sounds like, these guys ARE old. I know it’s hard to believe, but once again Pitchfork got the scoop. These guys haven’t seen a new movie in 30 jazillion years!

I sure was, and it was unlike any show I’ve ever been to. You could hear a pin drop in between songs. No one said a word, including the band. Their songs were plenty…
