I'm not sure what it is. At first it seemed that it might be his inner nerd. As in, he probably got picked on while young & this disqualifies him, but Jack White probably lost his lunch money daily & I was all for his nomination. It might have something to do with his not taking hiself too seriously. Sure, he can be intense, and that movie he put out about his fucking his OD'd wife was pretty serious, but there seems to always be enough absurdity involved that he must know OTHER people wont take him seriously.
