Guitar Friday

This week’s guitar Friday really looks at the impact of rocking on the physical properties of the natural world. If you’re a listener of comedian Patton Oswald, you understand what I’m talking about.

In this video the Foo Fighters are up against what appears to be an insurmountable number of “faceless” SWAT team members inside their mellow studio space.

As the team charges, Grohl and his band of merry rockstars lure them in, like William Wallace on the charging British Army, until the last second when the POWER OF THEIR ROCKING unleashes a hurricane of red liquid on them.

Needless to say, this torrent is too strong, and nothing is left of the SWAT team.

Rock.

I haven’t paid enough attention to the lyrics, but when I saw the video without sound at the gym, I thought it would be cooler if one of the SWAT guys calmly walked through the torrent while it was stripping off his gear to show him wearing clothing like the band. And at the end, he faces Grohl down while looking just like him.

Of course, that might not have anything to do with the song, but it seems more interesting to me.
